Anam Cara Board of Directors

Anne Magnan, Board President

Anne Magnan

Anne initially came to the Rockies in 2006 to take a NOLS semester. After three months tromping in the wilderness, a chance encounter with an icy sidewalk brought her back to Lander. She presently leads NOLS Custom Education, a team that creates educational experiences for other organizations. Anne and her team works with anyone interested in learning how to function better as a team member – be they NASA astronauts, 9th grade students, service members, Google directors, or MBA students.

In
This Human Moment, presenters were introduced with their ‘whole human bio.’ Anne’s working version is: Facilitator. Question asker. Experience creator. Leader. Partner, daughter, sister, aunt, devoted friend. Ocean lover. Kettlebell enthusiast. West Wing and Top Gun super fan. (Very) reluctant cat mom.

Stephanie Addis, Board Vice President

Stephanie Addiss

Stephanie Addiss lives in the foothills of Boulder, CO with her partner, Jeff, and her young daughter, Leona, where she enjoys living close to the wildness of nature while being able to partake of the vibrant culture and life in town. As a psychotherapist for over 15 years, she holds a private practice working with mostly young adults and their families. Her training in meditation, mindfulness and a contemplative view of psychotherapy has guided her to being deeply present with transitions that herself and her clients are navigating. During these times of transformation and change that can feel groundless, Stephanie believes that there is the capacity for deepening relationship with oneself and with others.

It is from this perspective that she values the immense support and relief that Anam Cara can provide families with their loved ones in their own transitions and unknowns at the end of life. She is proud to be a board member on Anam Cara, not only due to the mission Anam Cara holds but because of the passion and integrity that she has personally experienced from founder Sarah Wilzbacher. Sarah's heart-led commitment to Anam Cara clients and caregivers extends beyond her role, and this trickles down into all layers of the organization. As a board member, Stephanie is honored to support upholding Anam Cara’s mission by listening, holding a broad and long term perspective for sustainability, providing feedback around the organizational structure and flow, and using her natural skill of having thorough concern for all facets involved in the decision making process.

Judy Crawford, Board Member

Judy Crawford

As a 23 year resident of Lander Judy appreciates the call to service provided by Anam Cara to our aging community.  Judy has served as a nurse within numerous capacities to include Hospice care, Family Practice, Community Health and Urgent care.  Within these settings Judy has come to appreciate the gaps in chronic and end of life care that can only be filled by the kind, compassionate, competent and caring organization that is Anam Cara under the relationship-based leadership of Sarah Wilzbacher.   Additionally, the recent loss of a loved one to chronic and acute processes deepens Judy’s commitment to ensure that elders and family members in our community have support opportunities when needs arise.

Judy also brings experience as a NOLS Wilderness Medicine Program Director, managing systems, supervising staff and building partner relationships. As a long-standing wilderness medicine educator, she has taught groups ranging from military medics, university educators, park rangers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Her passion for cycling, hiking, canoeing and exploring the wilderness is well satisfied within the spectacular Wind River Mountains and surrounding area.

Sarah Hamlin, Board Member

Sarah Hamlin

Sarah first came to Lander in 2006 excited about starting a job at the NOLS and a love for the mountains. After many years in many roles, Sarah moved on to a position with the state offering business advising services to Wyoming small businesses through the Wyoming SBDC. It was here that Sarah developed her interest in local economic development and the services it takes to keep our rural communities vibrant and connected. Sarah currently works as the Director of Systems + Admin at Maven Optics which allows her to continue to support a growing part of the Lander business community (and have a lot of fun).

Sarah is a longtime member of the Lander Rotary Club and serves as a member of the planning committee for the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt. In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking and paddling with her daughter and husband, lifting heavy things at the gym, any and all kiddo art projects, mentoring new hunters, and spending time in the kitchen with her family and Lander Community.

Jagoe Warren, Board Member

Jagoe Warren

Jagoe has lived in Lander for over 26 years. In the late 1990s, while living out of her van and traveling through the West, she landed a nursing job in town from a pay phone. That phone call welcomed her into a community with open arms and open doors. Jagoe took that spirit to heart and has spent the decades since caring for and giving back to the community that first embraced her.

With a nursing career spanning more than 36 years, Jagoe has gathered a wide and varied caregiving skill set along the way. During her time in Lander she expanded her work to include being a massage therapist, birth doula, personal trainer, yoga teacher, and business owner—each role deepening her understanding of whole-person care.

Her time as a caregiver with Anam Cara touched a place in her heart that felt like home. The organization’s commitment to compassionate, relationship-centered care at the end of life reflects the kind of caregiving Jagoe has always valued most deeply.

Outside of work, Jagoe can often be found exploring trails on her mountain bike, dancing wildly in her kitchen, sewing and tie-dyeing, or enjoying live music. Above all, her family is the center of her world.

Heather Wisniewski, Board Member

Heather Wisniewski

Heather moved to Lander in 1998 to work for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), not realizing it would soon become home. Like many who find their way to Lander, she quickly fell in love with the strong sense of community and the easy access to wild places that make this place so special.

Heather began her career as an outdoor educator before shifting into philanthropy in 2008, where she discovered that fundraising is ultimately about connection—helping people support the causes and communities they care most deeply about. Over the years she has worked with several mission-driven organizations, including NOLS, The Nature Conservancy (both locally and globally), and now serves as Vice President of Advancement for Semester at Sea.

Heather lives in Lander with her husband, Chris, and their sweet pups. Like many families, she is also navigating the realities of supporting aging parents from afar. That experience has deepened her appreciation for the compassionate support Anam Cara provides to individuals and families facing illness, caregiving, and end-of-life transitions. She is grateful to support an organization that helps people remain cared for, connected, and at home during life’s most tender moments.
