#LanderBiz: Anam Cara Caregiving Provides Custom End-of-Life Care
Needing help as you grow older and decline is part of life. That doesn’t have to mean leaving the comfort of your home or relying solely on one person to get the help you need. Lander’s new Anam Cara Caregiving offers options for people to stay in their homes, have the care they need and provide caregivers support.
Anam Cara Caregiving Founder Sarah Kolman has been a hospice nurse for over a decade and was surprised how limited in-home care options there are for Fremont County residents. Sarah shared, “Everyone deserves to stay at home.”
Sarah provides free consultations to anyone interested. Even if Anam Cara Caregiving is not the right option to meet your needs, she is dedicated to helping find the right resources for you in the community.
Anam Cara Caregiving provides three levels of in-home care:
Companion Level (no medical training): safety check-ins, cooking, assistance with light household chores, etc…
CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Level: transferring to and from bed, chair, bathing, etc…
RN (Registered Nurse) Level: medication administration, treatments, turned in the bed, etc…
The full list of in-home care and services can be found here.
In addition to bringing custom care to your home, Sarah has opened her doors to people who cannot stay at their home but do not wish to spend their last days in a nursing home. Sarah has created a place where family can visit, feel settled and rested knowing their loved one is receiving around-the-clock care. You can find more information about this service here.
Health insurance does not cover Anam Cara Caregiving services. Sarah mentioned she is looking closely at becoming a non-profit but in the meantime she hopes donations and outside funding will help subsidize the cost.
The Anam Cara Caregiving team currently consists of a few companions, one CNA, and two RNs (including Sarah).
If you are interested in working with Sarah or have questions about the services offered, you can reach her at sarah@anamcaracaregiving.com, by calling 307-350-8557 or visit the Anam Cara Caregiving website.
